Herbal Tea Innovative Brewing Guidelines

The traditions of tea making go back centuries. Like the delivery of a treatment in spa, herbal  tea that is served with intent and brewed with love and care sets the scene for the perfect commencement or conclusion to a working day or spa journey. The benefits of herbal teas are endless, as are the way in which it can be served. Here we go through the traditional methods and share some innovative ways to serve and celebrate with tea.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Favorite LaGaia Herbal Tea
  • Tea Pot or Tea stainer
  • Serving tea cup/mug

HOT TEA

  • Boil water
  • Add 1 teaspoon of tea to the Tea Pot
  • Pour 250ml boiled water (95 degrees) over the tea.
  • Leave tea to steep for 4 -6 minutes

ICED TEA

Herbal tea served cold is a great summer time (or warmer
climate) refreshment.

  • Prepare tea as instructed above and once steeped, strain tea
  • Move to the refrigerator to cool or
  • Make ice cubes with LaGaia tea
  • To serve finish with a fresh piece of fruit along side

SUN TEA

The solar heat from the Sun is a beautiful way to prepare tea -and looks great
on a spa or home deck

  • In a glass jug , add portions equal to  1 tablespoons of tea to 1 liter of water
  • Set in sun for 4 hours
  • Strain and serve

TROPICAL

  • Add fruit juice to the Iced or Sun tea in a 50/50 ratio
  • Finishing touch-top with fresh fruit or vegetable pieces.
 

SOCIAL COCKTAIL (FUN, FUN, FUN!)

LAGAIA HERBAL CHAMPAGNE COCKTAIL
Ingredients
:
Champagne
Cointreau-10ml(optional)
Organic Sugar syrup - 2ML
Mother Earth Tea or the Floral Blend-20ml
Seasonal Fresh Fruit

Directions
Make the tea blend as per the directions above and add
 organic sugar syrup and stir to dissolve (add more if a sweeter
  flavor is required)
In a glass add:

  • 20ml herbal tea blend
  • 2ml sugar syrup
  • 10ml Cointreau (optional)

Top with Champagne and finishing touch a piece of fresh seasonal fruit

NOTES

Traditionally for serving all teas: Steep for 4-6 minutes
Tea may be steeped for up to 10 minutes; this will result in a stronger tea.
Steeping for any longer than 10 minutes may result in a bitter taste.
If the flavor is too strong add more water to achieve desired taste.

TEA STORAGE

To maintain and protect the flavor, freshness and medicinal properties of herbs, place the opened tea into a airtight glass container. Store away from direct sunlight
