To Melbourne residents more so, versus NSW/QLD in Australia, we are in the thick of a summer that seems to come and go as it pleases. Regardless, in true Aussie style we are all still braving the cooler days with crochet and lace tops, short shorts and onesies. The consensus in St. Kilda over this weekend was that these summer events are the time to take a few risks with you're fashion but not your skin care.
After spending an afternoon celebrating in the unpredictable weather there were hundreds of beautifully and simply styled women. The theme was ultra femme with splashes of 'the flower child' side of fashion. A bold lip, sun kissed skin, wide brimmed hats and high fashion sunglasses from, Givenchy, Chanel, YSL flooded the event. Splashes of high-fashion accessories seems to be one of the key ingredients to summer festival fashion with sun-block application finishing first! Every where I looked, sun smart Australian's layered sunblock over every exposed part of their bronzed bodies, and lets be honest, Australia loves sun kissed skin, so where it could be exposed it was.
Beauty is beyond purely aesthetics, this is something we can all agree on. I went around during the festival asking women what they thought the most important accessory was to events like this, "fabulous sunglasses", "a bold accessory", "fake tan", "A popping lip colour", and one that 90% of everyone could agree on was, "NEVER forget your sunblock".
Something beautiful is intriguing, engaging even fascinating! Letting something as special as our skin age while you out enjoying yourself is not something anyone wants to endure. The discovery that you're youthful face was lost on the beach in summer 2015 is, to put it mildly, frightening.
Unedited beauty is undeniably the 'Couture' of engaging and fascinating beauty. Could there be anything more interesting than a naked face or a photo that hasn't been filtered or edited. Wouldn't life be a little more interesting if we would all just let our unedited faces do the talking?
Lets appreciate some of the finer things in life this summer and keep in mind when you're getting gussied up; well applied fake tan, some savage eye brows, we've just brushed into order, a glossy pout and a high fashion accessory are they key's to beach and festival fashion 2015!
This summer lets all enjoy days at the beach and all the events without seeing a girl weighed down with a cosmetic counter full of makeup! Lets embrace a three word mantra; simple, balanced, chic.
The crusade for unedited beauty continues in 2015.
