" The fancy 'essentials' and bare basics
that make those 'spontaneous'
run-ins with the ex, not so awful! "
Damaged, Split Ends, Dry (OH MY!)
"Treat your locks...often! Trims are essential to keep those pesky critters at bay. Every 8,10 or 12 weeks is ideal...this can be 'hair type' dependant. For example 'fine hair' tends to split easier, therefore more frequent smaller trims are needed. Treatments are your best friend, weekly/fortnightly, this all depends on how often you wash your hair. The more often you wash, the more often you treat."
But what about brushes, and for those that don't brush (use their natural bristles known as fingers) what about them!
"Brushing is extremely underrated in my eyes. Preferably on dry hair however. Because your hair can stretch up to 70% while wet the worst time to brush is then, spoiling it's elasticity leaving your hair prone to breakage. Its the best for of scalp massage and also works your natural oils to the ends, where we need the most hydration."
Marcia Brady till your hearts content...
Products to try: The Tangle Teezer, this prevents the six year old tantrum from tangles and knots, also Chloe recommends trying a 'Boar' bristle brush to use while using a hair dryer, as it helps create shine.
HOT Winter showers, does this affect hair?
"Some do like it hot and if so, over time your locks could feel on the drier side. There is a belief that a quick shock of cold will make your mane shine like a diamond. A shot of cold for then entire body is known to put it in a more harmonious place and is proven to speed up your metabolism first thing in the morning, my suggestion; warm water for hair and a shock of cold for shine and a body boost!"
Techno-coloured dream hair...
"Every colour will need some kind of special TLC treatment at home. Basically, the better you look after your hair at home, the less time and money you'll end up spending in salon. Your stylist should be recommending some kind of maintenance treatment.
Remember: what you pay for is what you get,
so if you want to properly maintain and spend
less in salon, take care of it will high quality
products at home.
Most people have had some colour treatment at some point in their life, and 3 years of training makes your 'hair nerd' more capable of wonderful things, but be realistic, we want what's best for you and your hair. We take into account you current style, we acknowledge your attire, your mood and your lifestyle when deciding what cut and colour will suit."
"Being kind to your hair is stage one, listening to your hair nerd stage two."
Mental note: look and feel great when going into salon, might make the difference to your styling!
Curly, Straight, Wavy....
"Again your salon expert will guide you, you're our biggest advertising point. Every time you leave your house, we want you looking like you've just stepped out of the salon, this is simpler to replicate each day when your using products that suit your needs."
"Be kind to your hair, it's scientifically impossible to change your hair colour as often as your underwear and still have beautiful, healthy locks."
